Taken the Plunge

Well I've started, done lots of sketching and planning. Got cracking today and made some pieces towards my 12 x 12. Learning heaps as I go and hoping I'm not going to learn from too many mistakes. Wondering when everyone thinks they will be finished. I am thinking the 13 of February would suit me as I'm not the fastest worker. It does start to get exciting when you finally start. Next meeting I would like to find out how to get photos on the blog Ashleigh you computer whizz. Well time to get back to it good luck everyone.

Challenging!!

After being stressed that I hadn't started, I have now got underway & most things are turning out well! I have really challenged myself by doing 3 new things I haven't attempted before. I have stuck with my initial idea although have had to do a lot of thinking & re-thinking etc to get things to work! I am still a bit stressed at getting it finished as my husband has organised for us to go camping on thurs for just over a week & it won't be coming along!! Bev - I love your Traumatised comment about Donna's excitement, I am pretty excited also but I agree, I probably feel a bit traumatised too!!Ha my drawing skills are hopeless 2!!

Is anyone else way out of their comfort zone? I can't draw to save myself and yet I have chosen to draw for this block!!!!!!!! It wasn't really my choice. The piece just demanded it when my ideas began to emerge. It has taken on a life its own. I am very nervous.

2 1/2 hours ago I started looking at the 12x12 quilters site and went on a fascinating excursion through all sorts of connected sites and blogs. The house has been dead quiet for over an hour and everyone else is asleep. Think I should go to bed!! Put some of the ideas in my head onto fabric today. Still not sure about it but its a start. My goal is to achieve a little bit every day this week. Not sure that I am going to sleep but goodnight anyway.

Yeah!!! This is exiting.

Have finally made a start on my project.  It is turning out way better that I thought it would.  The journal hasn't really helped at all but once I got going things developed from there.   Have already faced a few new "challenges" and have a few more to conquer.  This is fun!!!!!!!

I have a confession - I have a new addiction & may need councilling in the future. Everytime I go into a shop I'm looking for cool things that I may need to use on my next project. Fabric shops, art supply shops & even the hardware stores - who knows where I'll find something next???

I've created a "special box" for embelishments for my 12x12.

Well & truely started on my project now. Time is flying by quickly. Giving me some indication of what I can achieve over 4 weeks. I found the best plan of attack is to set a small task (even if it's just ironing a few fabrics) and make the time to do it that day and to try and do at least couple of tasks each week.
